Vivo has quietly expanded its smartphone portfolio by introducing the new Vivo Y6a in China. The latest budget 5G device combines a large battery, capable hardware and a durable design, making it an attractive option for users who want long lasting performance without stepping into the premium price segment.

One of the biggest highlights of the smartphone is its massive 7200mAh battery. The device supports 44W fast charging, allowing users to recharge the large battery more efficiently. Vivo also claims that the battery is engineered to retain its health for up to six years after approximately 1800 charging cycles, offering long term reliability for everyday use.

The phone features a 6.75 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1570 by 720 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and gaming while delivering peak brightness of up to 1200 nits, making the screen easier to view even in bright outdoor conditions.

Powering the Vivo Y6a is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The smartphone also supports virtual RAM expansion, allowing the total available memory to increase up to 16GB for improved multitasking performance. It runs on Android 16 based OriginOS 6, bringing the latest software experience to users.

Photography is handled by a 50MP main rear camera, while an 8MP front camera is available for selfies and video calls. The device is designed to deliver reliable image quality for everyday photography while offering essential features for social media and communication.

Vivo has also focused on durability and convenience. The smartphone carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings for resistance against dust and water. Additional features include stereo speakers, NFC support, an infrared blaster, a side mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock and dual SIM functionality. Connectivity options include 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type C and support for aptX Adaptive audio codecs.

The Vivo Y6a is currently available in a single variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It is priced at 1999 yuan, which is approximately Rs 27700. Buyers in China can choose from Obsidian Black, Galaxy Silver and Phoenix Gold color options.

For now, Vivo has introduced the smartphone only in the Chinese market. The company has not announced plans for launching the Vivo Y6a in India or other international markets, leaving global availability uncertain at this stage.
