Urea App Gets Centre Praise: Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has strongly defended the state’s Urea App, saying it has brought transparency to fertiliser distribution while ensuring that genuine farmers receive urea without unnecessary delays. He accused opposition parties of spreading misleading claims only for political advantage despite the positive results achieved through the digital system.

The minister said the Central Government has appreciated the functioning of the Telangana Urea App after observing its success in preventing black marketing and eliminating artificial shortages. According to him, the Centre is now preparing to introduce a similar model across other states because of its effective implementation.

Explaining the need for the initiative, Tummala recalled that during previous administrations many people with no connection to agriculture were able to purchase large quantities of urea. Much of that fertiliser was diverted into the black market, creating shortages for genuine farmers and causing unnecessary hardship during the farming season.

He stated that the present government introduced the Urea App to permanently address these irregularities. The digital platform ensures that only eligible farmers can access fertiliser, making the distribution process more efficient, transparent and accountable while reducing misuse.

Tummala further alleged that the opposition is unable to accept the benefits of technology driven reforms and is attempting to mislead farmers with false narratives. He reaffirmed that the government remains committed to protecting farmers’ interests and will continue strengthening the agricultural sector through transparent and technology based governance.
