Amazon Fast Delivery: Amazon Expands Amazon Now Service to More Than 300 Cities Across India

Amazon Fast Delivery: Amazon has announced an ambitious expansion plan for its Amazon Now service, aiming to extend its fast delivery network to more than 300 cities across India. The move is expected to significantly improve delivery speed while making a wider range of products available to millions of additional customers.

At present, Amazon Now operates in 15 major cities including Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Amritsar, serving more than 50 million customers. The service enables shoppers to receive their orders within minutes or just a few hours, depending on product availability and location.

According to Amazon India Country Manager Sameer Kumar, customer demand for Amazon Now has continued to grow rapidly since its launch. He said order volumes have doubled every quarter, while Prime members using the service have increased their shopping frequency by nearly three times.

As part of the expansion, Amazon will significantly increase its network of micro fulfillment centers and urban fulfillment facilities. Once the new infrastructure is in place, the company expects to offer same day delivery for more than one million products and next day delivery for over four million products across eligible locations.

The Amazon Now catalog already includes daily essentials, fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen foods, personal care products, beauty items, fashion accessories, kitchen products, home essentials, and small electronic devices. The company also plans to introduce more product categories as it expands into additional cities.

Amazon has also announced a new welfare initiative called Samman for its delivery partners. The program will be funded through the company’s recently announced investment of 300 million dollars in India to strengthen operations and employee welfare. The initiative includes scholarships for the children of delivery partners, support for accessing government welfare schemes, and financial inclusion programs.

In addition, Amazon plans to expand insurance coverage, provide road safety training, and increase the number of Ashray rest centers for delivery workers to 250 locations by the end of the year. These facilities will offer clean drinking water, mobile charging points, rest areas, and washroom facilities to improve working conditions for delivery personnel.

The announcements come during the visit of Amazon Global Chief Executive Officer Andy Jassy to India, highlighting the company’s continued focus on expanding its logistics network, improving customer experience, and supporting the welfare of its delivery workforce.
