Bhagirath Gets Bail: A significant development has emerged in the POCSO case involving Bhagirath, as the Malkajgiri Court granted him interim bail after he spent more than a month in judicial custody. Following the court’s order, prison authorities released him from Cherlapally Jail.
The case was registered at Pet Basheerabad Police Station on the basis of a written complaint filed by the mother of a minor girl. Police launched an investigation after allegations of sexual misconduct and assault against the accused were brought to their attention.
According to the complaint, the alleged incident involved a 17 year old girl. The allegations prompted police to treat the matter with seriousness and proceed under relevant provisions of the POCSO Act.
After conducting a preliminary investigation, Pet Basheerabad police arrested Bhagirath on May 16. He was subsequently produced before a judicial authority in Medchal district, where he was remanded to judicial custody for fourteen days and later lodged in Cherlapally Jail.
Over the past several weeks, legal proceedings continued in the case. During recent hearings, both sides presented their arguments before the court. After considering the submissions, the Malkajgiri Court granted interim bail to the accused.
While the interim bail order provides temporary relief to Bhagirath, the investigation into the allegations remains ongoing. Authorities are expected to continue examining evidence and statements as part of the legal process.
