Citroen has introduced the E C3X electric hatchback in India with SUV inspired styling advanced connected features a 320 km claimed range and flexible pricing under Battery as a Service model

Citroen has expanded its electric vehicle lineup in India with the launch of the new E C3X, a model that blends hatchback practicality with SUV inspired design elements. The new EV enters a competitive space where it directly takes on rivals like the Tata Punch EV while aiming to stand out with its features and pricing strategy.
One of the most interesting aspects of the launch is the pricing approach. The Citroen E C3X carries an ex showroom price of 10.25 lakh rupees, but customers also get an alternative Battery as a Service plan. Under this scheme, the starting price drops to 6.89 lakh rupees, with users paying a usage based battery fee of 2.26 rupees per kilometer. This flexible ownership model is designed to reduce upfront cost barriers for EV buyers in India.
The company has opened bookings for the E C3X across dealerships and its official website. While color options have not been detailed yet, Citroen has confirmed that the model comes with a claimed maintenance cost of just 0.19 rupees per kilometer, positioning it as a budget friendly long term mobility solution.
Design wise, the E C3X features a modern and rugged look with LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights and a signature lighting pattern. It also gets 15 inch diamond cut alloy wheels, front and rear skid plates, fog lamps and a new X badging that highlights its refreshed identity. Electrically adjustable and auto folding ORVMs further add to everyday convenience.
Inside the cabin, Citroen has focused on comfort and technology. The interior features dual tone leatherette seats, ambient LED lighting and an electric blue themed finish. A 7 inch digital TFT instrument cluster sits alongside a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring modern smartphone connectivity.
Adding to the tech package, the E C3X includes a wireless smartphone charger, electrochromic rear view mirror and Citroen Connected Car 2.0 suite. This system enables more than 40 remote connected features, allowing users to control and monitor several vehicle functions through their devices. A premium JBL audio system further enhances the in cabin experience, while dashcam support is also available for both front and rear.
Space and practicality remain strong points of the vehicle. The E C3X offers 315 liters of boot space and 1375 mm shoulder room, making it suitable for daily city usage and short family trips. Citroen has also tuned the suspension for improved ride comfort, which has been a key focus in its India specific engineering approach.
Powering the EV is a 29.2 kWh LFP battery pack paired with a front mounted electric motor. The setup produces 56 bhp and 143 Nm of torque, delivering a claimed driving range of up to 320 kilometers on a single charge. This makes it a practical option for urban commuting and occasional highway use.
Safety has also been given attention with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, speed sensitive door locking and a high speed alert system. Optional features such as lane departure warning, front vehicle distance alert and pedestrian warning further enhance safety for modern driving conditions.
With its mix of affordability options, connected features and SUV inspired design, the Citroen E C3X is clearly positioned as a strong new contender in India’s growing electric hatchback segment.
