Chhattisgarh Man Performs Tantric Rituals Seeking Bail for Jailed Relative

A bizarre incident has been reported from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, where a group of young men allegedly performed tantric rituals at a cremation ground in the hope of securing bail for a jailed relative.

The incident reportedly took place late Friday night at a cremation ground in Devari village under the Sipat police station limits. Local residents noticed four men behaving suspiciously at the site and attempted to stop them. Three of them reportedly managed to escape, while another man identified as Rushikesh Kumar was caught and handed over to the police.

Police said several items were found at the location, including a fish, lemons, vermilion and photographs. One of the photographs was that of Chhattisgarh High Court Chief Justice Justice Ramesh Sinha. Photographs of two other people were also reportedly recovered from the site.

During questioning, Rushikesh allegedly told investigators that his relative Priyanshu Bole had been arrested along with others in an assault case. While one accused had already secured bail, the bail applications of the remaining accused were still pending before the court.

According to the police, the group had watched a video by a tantric on YouTube claiming that certain rituals could help people obtain bail in court cases. Believing the claim, the four men allegedly decided to perform the ritual themselves.

The group reportedly reached the cremation ground at midnight and began the ritual using the photographs and other items. Police later identified one of the photographs as belonging to Priyanshu Bole, who is currently in jail, while another reportedly belonged to the person injured in the assault case.

Bilaspur Superintendent of Police Rajneesh Singh said the incident was being investigated and warned people against relying on superstition or tantric practices to influence legal proceedings.

The police also made it clear that performing such rituals cannot influence a court’s decision on bail. Authorities have warned that legal action will be taken against people involved in activities based on harmful superstitions.

The incident has once again highlighted how misinformation and superstition can lead people to take unusual steps while dealing with serious legal situations.
