How to Set Up a Second WhatsApp Account on iPhone Step by Step Guide for Dual Number Users

WhatsApp now allows iPhone users to run two accounts on a single device making it easier to manage personal and work numbers with a simple setup process and quick verification system

Managing multiple phone numbers has become common, especially for users who separate personal and professional communication. With dual SIM and eSIM support, handling more than one number is easier than ever. Still, using two WhatsApp accounts on an iPhone was not simple until recently. WhatsApp now officially supports multiple accounts on iOS, allowing users to add a second profile directly within the app.

The process begins by opening WhatsApp on the iPhone and going to the settings section from the bottom navigation bar. Users will find an option next to their profile name where a plus icon appears. Tapping it allows them to choose the option to add a new account.

After selecting this, users need to agree to WhatsApp terms and privacy policy by tapping continue. The next step involves choosing the country code and entering the phone number that will be used for the second account. Once entered, a verification code is sent through SMS or a phone call.

This six digit code must be entered to confirm the number. After successful verification, users are asked to enter their name and proceed. At this stage, they can also add a profile picture and optional about information if they wish to personalize the account further.

Once the setup is complete, WhatsApp registers the new account on the device. The second account becomes active and can be accessed from the settings menu, allowing users to switch between accounts whenever needed without logging out.

If the add account option is not visible, it usually means the app is not updated. Users are advised to install the latest version of WhatsApp for iOS to enable this feature.

It is also worth noting that users can remove a secondary account from the device without deleting the entire WhatsApp profile permanently. This gives more flexibility for those who want temporary usage on a second number.

With this update, iPhone users finally get a simpler way to manage multiple WhatsApp identities on a single device, making communication more organized and convenient.
