Vivo X Fold 6 Set to Debut With Custom MediaTek Chip and Powerful AI Focus

Vivo is preparing to launch its next foldable smartphone with a custom MediaTek chipset advanced AI features a larger battery and a redesigned software experience for productivity.

Vivo is gearing up to strengthen its position in the foldable smartphone segment with the upcoming launch of the Vivo X Fold 6. The new device is expected to bring significant upgrades in performance, artificial intelligence capabilities, battery life, and multitasking features, making it one of the most anticipated foldable phones of the year.

One of the biggest highlights of the Vivo X Fold 6 is its processor. The smartphone will reportedly become the first device to feature the newly developed MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset. According to company executives, Vivo and MediaTek worked together for nearly two years to create this customized platform specifically for foldable smartphones. The chipset is said to offer improved neural processing performance, allowing smoother AI driven experiences and better efficiency across demanding applications.

The focus on artificial intelligence appears to be a major part of Vivo’s strategy for the new foldable device. The enhanced chipset has been designed to take advantage of larger foldable displays while delivering improved AI features. Users can expect smarter performance optimization, better multitasking, and advanced on device processing capabilities that make everyday tasks faster and more intuitive.

Alongside the new processor, Vivo is also introducing a redesigned software experience. The Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to run on OriginOS 6 Fold, the company’s latest custom user interface. Built on Android 16, the software will introduce a feature called Atomic Workbench, which allows users to access and manage multiple Android applications simultaneously. This feature aims to improve productivity by making multitasking on the foldable screen more seamless and efficient.

Battery life is another area where the company appears to be making major improvements. Recent certification listings suggest that the smartphone could feature a dual cell battery setup consisting of 2807mAh and 3863mAh units. Combined, the battery is expected to deliver a typical capacity of around 6900mAh, offering substantially longer usage times compared to many current foldable devices.

Camera enthusiasts may also find plenty to look forward to. Industry reports indicate that the Vivo X Fold 6 could include a powerful triple camera setup on the rear. The system may feature a 200 megapixel primary sensor, accompanied by a 50 megapixel ultra wide camera and a 50 megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Such a configuration could position the device among the most capable foldable smartphones for photography and video recording.

For security, Vivo is likely to equip the smartphone with a side mounted fingerprint scanner. The company is expected to balance convenience and security while maintaining the slim design typically associated with foldable devices.

The Vivo X Fold 6 has already appeared on multiple certification and database platforms, signaling that its official launch could happen soon in China. Once released, the smartphone will compete directly with premium foldable rivals such as Oppo Find N6 and Honor Magic V6.

The foldable smartphone market continues to grow rapidly, with companies introducing increasingly advanced devices each year. While Samsung currently maintains a strong presence in the segment, competition is becoming more intense as manufacturers invest heavily in innovation. Reports also suggest that Apple may enter the foldable smartphone category in the near future, making the battle for market leadership even more competitive.

With a custom chipset, upgraded software, AI enhancements, a larger battery, and a premium camera system, the Vivo X Fold 6 is shaping up to be a major contender in the next generation of foldable smartphones.
