Honor Magic 9 Series May Bring Smart Stylus Support for Next Gen Users

New leaks suggest Honor could introduce digital pen compatibility in its upcoming Magic 9 lineup, adding AI powered writing and drawing features along with upgraded hardware and flagship performance

Honor is reportedly preparing to expand its premium smartphone lineup with the upcoming Magic 9 series, which may introduce an interesting new addition in the form of stylus support. If the leaks turn out to be accurate, this could mark a major step for the brand in bringing pen based interaction to non foldable flagship devices.

The information surfaced through a post on Weibo by tipster Smart Pikachu, who claimed that the Honor Magic 9 series might work with a smart digital pen accessory. This stylus is expected to do more than basic writing or sketching, as it may also integrate artificial intelligence based features for productivity and creative tasks. While Honor already offers stylus support on its foldable devices, this would be the first time a traditional slab style smartphone lineup could receive such functionality.

Industry competition in this segment is already heating up, with companies like Samsung and Motorola offering stylus compatible smartphones in select models. Devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra are often seen as benchmarks in this space. However, if Honor moves ahead with this plan, the Magic 9 series could become one of the first mainstream flagship lines to bring stylus input to a wider audience.

The upcoming lineup is expected to include multiple models such as the Honor Magic 9, Magic 9 Pro and Magic 9 RSR. Early reports suggest that the base model is being tested with a 6.36 inch display, aiming for a compact yet premium feel. Powering the device could be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, continuing Honor’s focus on high end performance.

Camera upgrades are also expected to play a key role in the new series. Leaks indicate the possibility of a 64 megapixel OV64D periscope telephoto sensor, which could enhance zoom and long distance photography. Along with this, Honor may also focus on improving imaging software and AI based enhancements.

Battery performance is another area where the Magic 9 series could stand out. Reports suggest a large 8000 mAh battery with wireless charging support, which would be a significant upgrade for heavy users. Security features may include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, adding faster and more reliable unlocking performance.

For context, the previous generation Honor Magic 8 already brought strong specifications including a high refresh rate display, powerful triple camera setup and fast wired and wireless charging support. It also ran on MagicOS based on Android 16, showing Honor’s push toward a more refined software experience.

While none of these details have been officially confirmed by Honor yet, the growing number of leaks suggests that the Magic 9 series is shaping up to be an important release. If stylus support does make it to the final product, it could change how users interact with flagship smartphones in everyday tasks.
