Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Series and Z Flip 8 Expected Launch in India as BIS Listing Hints at Imminent Arrival
Samsung’s next generation foldable smartphones including Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Z Flip 8 have appeared on BIS listing, suggesting an upcoming India launch amid rising competition in the foldable market segment

Samsung is preparing to expand its foldable smartphone lineup once again, with new models expected to arrive in India soon. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 series along with the Galaxy Z Flip 8 are reportedly nearing launch, and recent listings on the Bureau of Indian Standards have strongly hinted at their imminent debut in the country. These devices are expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, which could take place next month.
The BIS certification website has recently listed multiple Samsung devices carrying model numbers linked to the next generation foldables. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is believed to be associated with models SM A857B and SM F776B. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is expected to correspond to SM D642B and SM F971B. Although the listing confirms their existence, it does not reveal any detailed specifications, leaving most features still based on early reports and leaks.
Interestingly, another premium foldable device has also appeared in BIS listings, suggesting the possible arrival of a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra variant. This model is associated with numbers SM D647B and SM F976B. If leaks are accurate, this device could represent Samsung’s most advanced foldable yet, designed to push the boundaries of display technology and performance.
According to early information circulating in the industry, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra may feature a 6.5 inch cover display and an 8 inch inner foldable screen, both expected to support a 120 Hz refresh rate. The device is also rumored to be extremely slim when unfolded, with a thickness of around 4.1 mm, highlighting Samsung’s continued focus on refined foldable design.
Camera capabilities are expected to be a major highlight of the Ultra model. Leaks suggest a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 200 megapixel primary sensor, a 50 megapixel ultra wide lens, and a 10 megapixel telephoto camera. On the front, dual 10 megapixel cameras may be included for selfies and video calls, improving flexibility for users who rely on multitasking and content creation.
Performance and battery life are also expected to receive significant upgrades. The device could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and may include a 5000 mAh battery. If these specifications turn out to be accurate, Samsung’s upcoming foldable could offer a strong balance between power efficiency and high end performance.
Samsung is expected to unveil these devices at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London next month, where the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra may be introduced alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8. As Samsung continues to lead the global foldable smartphone market, competition is becoming increasingly intense. With companies like Apple reportedly planning to enter the foldable segment soon, the next generation of foldables could mark a major shift in the industry landscape.
