Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 Expected to Bring 200MP Camera and Next Level Foldable Experience
Xiaomi’s upcoming Mix Fold 5 is rumored to feature a powerful 200 megapixel camera, large foldable display, advanced chipset, and improved battery as leaks suggest a strong premium foldable competitor is on the way

Xiaomi is once again preparing to strengthen its position in the foldable smartphone market with its upcoming device, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5. While the company has not officially confirmed its launch, multiple leaks suggest that this next generation foldable phone could bring major upgrades in design, performance, and photography. It is expected to succeed the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and compete with upcoming premium foldables from global brands.
One of the biggest highlights of the rumored device is its camera system. Reports indicate that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 may feature a massive 200 megapixel rear camera, aiming to push mobile photography into a more advanced category. Along with this, the device is also expected to carry a powerful Xring O3 chipset, which could significantly improve performance and efficiency compared to its predecessor.
Battery life is another area where Xiaomi appears to be focusing strongly. The Mix Fold 5 is expected to come with a large battery of around 6000 mAh or even higher, with support for wireless charging. This combination could make it one of the more reliable foldables for heavy daily use, especially for users who rely on multitasking and multimedia consumption.
According to leaks shared on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo by tipster Digital Chat Station, the prototype of the device may feature a 7.5 to 7.6 inch foldable display. The screen is also rumored to include technology designed to reduce the visibility of the crease, which has long been a concern in foldable smartphones. If true, this could offer a smoother and more premium viewing experience.
Security features are also expected to remain practical and familiar, with a side mounted fingerprint sensor likely included for quick access. While these details are still based on early information, they suggest that Xiaomi is aiming to balance innovation with usability in its next foldable offering.
The smartphone is expected to launch first in China in the coming months, although global availability remains unclear. If launched as expected, the Mix Fold 5 could compete directly with Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 series as well as Apple’s rumored entry into the foldable segment.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi continues to show strong performance in the Indian smartphone market. The company has recorded significant growth in the mid premium segment, which includes devices priced between 35,000 and 50,000 rupees. Reports suggest that Xiaomi achieved nearly 212 percent year on year growth between February and April in this category, highlighting a shift in consumer preference toward value driven premium devices.
According to market research data from Counterpoint, Xiaomi secured the fourth position in India’s smartphone market in the first quarter of the year with a 7.9 percent share, including sales from its sub brand Poco. The company attributes its recent success to a strategy focused more on value and user experience rather than just increasing the number of device launches.
