iQOO 16 May Arrive With 2K High Refresh Rate Display and Massive Battery
iQOO is reportedly preparing its next flagship smartphone with a premium gaming focused display, upgraded thermal system, powerful Snapdragon chipset, advanced cameras, and a huge battery for long performance sessions.

Chinese smartphone brand iQOO is reportedly working on its next flagship device, the iQOO 16, which could bring several major upgrades aimed at gamers and power users. Leaks surrounding the upcoming smartphone suggest that the company is focusing heavily on performance, display quality, and battery life.
According to information shared by popular tipster Digital Chat Station on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, the iQOO 16 may feature a large battery with a capacity of around 8500 mAh. If true, this could make it one of the biggest batteries seen in a flagship smartphone segment. Reports also claim that the device is currently being tested with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor.
The smartphone is expected to include a premium 2K resolution display with an ultra high refresh rate designed especially for smooth gaming and multimedia experiences. Industry insiders believe the display could offer faster touch response and improved motion clarity during competitive gaming sessions.
iQOO is also said to be developing a redesigned thermal management system for the device. Efficient cooling has become one of the most important features in flagship gaming smartphones, especially for users who spend long hours playing high graphics games or recording videos. The improved cooling setup may help maintain stable performance without excessive heating.
Another highlight of the iQOO 16 could be the inclusion of a dedicated performance chip developed by the company. This additional chipset may handle gaming related tasks separately to improve frame rates, graphics optimization, and battery efficiency during intensive usage.
Camera upgrades are also expected in the upcoming smartphone. Leaks indicate that the iQOO 16 may feature a periscope telephoto camera for enhanced zoom photography. The device has reportedly appeared on the IMEI database with the model number I2601, hinting that its official launch may not be too far away.
The upcoming smartphone is expected to succeed the iQOO 15, which was launched in India last year. The previous model featured a 6.85 inch Samsung M14 8T LTPO AMOLED display with 2K resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 6000 nits. It also offered a triple rear camera setup with three 50 megapixel sensors including a telephoto periscope lens and an ultra wide camera.
The iQOO 15 was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and packed a 7000 mAh battery with support for 100 W wired charging and 40 W wireless charging. It also included several artificial intelligence based features aimed at improving photography and overall performance.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the company may also introduce another smartphone called the iQOO 15T alongside the flagship lineup. This model could feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor and a powerful 200 megapixel Samsung HP5 primary camera, targeting users looking for advanced photography capabilities at a competitive price point.
