Pilot Suffers Heart Attack During Mid Air Flight Emergency

A Jet2 flight made an emergency landing in Portugal after the pilot suffered a heart attack while the aircraft was flying at 30000 feet.

A routine international flight turned into a tense situation after a pilot suffered a medical emergency while the aircraft was flying at nearly 30000 feet. The incident forced the flight crew to take immediate action to ensure the safety of everyone on board.

According to officials, the Jet2 aircraft had departed from Tenerife in Spain during the early hours of Friday and was heading toward Birmingham. During the journey, the co pilot reportedly noticed that the pilot was experiencing a heart attack while the aircraft was cruising at high altitude.

After identifying the emergency, the crew quickly alerted authorities and requested assistance from the nearest airport. The flight was then diverted to Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport in Portugal where emergency medical teams had already been placed on standby.

As soon as the aircraft landed, medical personnel rushed to provide treatment to the pilot. Reports suggest that around 220 passengers were on board at the time of the incident.

Passengers later said the unexpected diversion caused long delays and uncertainty during the journey. Some travelers stated that they remained inside the aircraft for more than an hour and later spent nearly 13 hours at the terminal while waiting for alternative arrangements.

Jet2 later apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers and stated that safety remains its highest priority. The airline also emphasized that it would never compromise on the well being of passengers and crew members.
