Plane Collides With Paraglider Mid Air Over Austrian Alps

A woman paraglider survived a terrifying mid air collision in the Austrian Alps after quickly deploying an emergency parachute following impact with a small aircraft.

A shocking mid air accident in the Austrian Alps left a paraglider narrowly escaping death after a small aircraft collided with her parachute during flight. The incident has drawn attention after video footage of the dramatic moments surfaced online.

The woman involved in the accident, identified as 44 year old Sabrina, had attached a camera to her paraglider and was performing aerial maneuvers high above the mountains. During the flight, a plane suddenly struck the parachute, tearing it apart and causing her to lose control in the air.

Moments after the collision, Sabrina was seen spinning uncontrollably and falling rapidly. In a critical situation that demanded immediate action, she managed to activate her emergency parachute, which slowed her descent and ultimately saved her life.

After receiving information from local residents, emergency teams and police reached the area by helicopter and shifted her to a nearby hospital for medical examination. Officials later confirmed that her health condition remains stable.

The aircraft pilot later spoke about the incident after landing at Zell am See Airport and said the paraglider was not visible until the aircraft had moved extremely close. According to the pilot, there was little time to react and avoid the impact.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances behind the accident and understand how the two aircraft came into such close proximity in the sky.
