Horror in Chandrapur Forest After Tigress Attack Claims Four Women Lives
Four women were killed after a tigress attacked a group collecting tendu leaves in a forest area of Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district, triggering fear among villagers and forest dependent communities.

A tragic wildlife incident unfolded in Maharashtra after a tigress attacked a group of women inside a forest in Sindewahi taluk of Chandrapur district. The attack claimed the lives of four women and left several others injured.
The women had reportedly entered the Gunjewahi forest early on Friday morning to collect tendu leaves, which are widely used for making beedis. A total of 13 women were part of the group when the wild animal suddenly appeared from the dense forest area.
Witnesses said panic spread instantly as the tigress charged toward the women. In an attempt to save themselves, the group ran in different directions while screaming for help. During the attack, four women were caught by the tigress and died on the spot.
The survivors somehow escaped from the forest and alerted nearby villagers about the incident. After hearing the news, local residents rushed to the area carrying sticks and other protective items.
Villagers later discovered the bodies of the victims inside the forest region. The shocking incident has created fear among people living near forest zones, especially those who depend on forest produce for daily income.
Officials from the forest department visited the location soon after the attack and started an inquiry. The incident has once again highlighted the growing concern over human and wildlife conflict in several forest regions of the state.
