Motorola has officially entered a new phase in its foldable journey with the launch of the Motorola Razr Fold in India. The device marks the company’s first large screen foldable smartphone in the premium category, combining powerful hardware, advanced imaging, and long term software support in a single package aimed at high end users.
The highlight of the Razr Fold is its dual display design. It features an 8.1 inch 2K LTPO pOLED inner screen and a 6.56 inch LTPO pOLED cover display. Both panels are designed for smooth performance and high brightness output, making the device suitable for multimedia consumption as well as everyday productivity. The large foldable form factor also gives users more flexibility in how they interact with apps and content.
On the performance front, the smartphone is powered by the octa core Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 3nm processor paired with the Adreno 829 GPU. It comes in multiple configurations offering up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. Motorola has also added Android 16 with a promise of seven major OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, positioning it as a long term usage device.
Camera performance is another strong focus area for the Razr Fold. The device carries a triple 50 megapixel rear camera setup that includes a primary sensor with OIS, an ultra wide macro lens, and a periscope telephoto lens. For selfies and video calls, it offers both an internal 32 megapixel camera and an external 20 megapixel front camera, allowing users to capture images in multiple folded and unfolded modes.
Battery life has been significantly improved with a 6000mAh unit supporting 80W TurboPower fast charging and 50W wireless charging. This ensures that the large foldable display and high performance chipset can run smoothly throughout the day without frequent charging breaks, which is often a concern in foldable devices.
In terms of design, the Razr Fold is both modern and practical. It measures 144.47mm when unfolded and 160.05mm in width, while the folded profile becomes more compact at 9.89mm thickness and weighs 243 grams. The device also includes a side mounted fingerprint sensor for security and carries IP46, IP48, and IP49 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Connectivity options are equally advanced with support for 5G, Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, GPS, and USB Type C. With its combination of premium design, powerful hardware, and long term software commitment, the Motorola Razr Fold positions itself as a serious contender in the growing foldable smartphone market.
