Samsung Galaxy A08 Launches With 6000mAh Battery

Samsung has expanded its Galaxy A series with the new Galaxy A08, a budget smartphone that combines a large battery with a long software support commitment. The handset has already reached select international markets, although Samsung has not yet announced its India launch details.

The biggest highlight of the Galaxy A08 is its 6,000mAh battery. The phone supports 25W fast charging, but Samsung does not include a charger in the retail box. Buyers who want to use the full charging capability may therefore need to purchase a compatible charger separately.

Software support is another area where Samsung is putting considerable focus. The Galaxy A08 runs Android 16 with One UI 8 and is promised six generations of operating system upgrades. Samsung has also committed to providing six years of security updates, which is a notable support period for a budget device.

The smartphone has been launched with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded through a microSD card, with support for capacities of up to 2TB. A dedicated microSD slot is available alongside the dual SIM setup.

The Galaxy A08 features a 6.7 inch HD Plus Infinity U LCD display with a resolution of 720 by 1600 pixels. The screen uses a U shaped notch at the top for the front camera. Some market reports have also listed a 90Hz refresh rate for the panel.

On the camera side, the phone carries a 50 megapixel primary rear camera with an f1.8 aperture. A 2 megapixel depth sensor with an f2.4 aperture is placed alongside it, while an LED flash completes the rear setup.

Samsung has provided an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes. Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS and a USB Type C port.

In terms of physical design, the Galaxy A08 measures 167.4 by 77.4 by 8.0mm and weighs 197 grams. The smartphone is available in Navy Blue, Silver and Green colour options.

The Galaxy A08 has already appeared on Samsung websites in several markets, including Serbia and South Africa, while sales have begun in some regions. In Ukraine, the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at 10,699 Ukrainian hryvnia, which is roughly Rs 23,000 based on the conversion mentioned in the source information.
