Vivo V80 India Launch Tipped With 7200mAh Battery and 50MP Camera

Vivo V80 is expected to launch in India with a 7200mAh battery, 50 megapixel ZEISS camera, telephoto lens, Android 17 and new AI photography features for festive users.

Vivo is reportedly preparing to expand its V80 series in India, with the Vivo V80 tipped to arrive as the next major model in the company’s popular V series. The smartphone is expected to succeed the Vivo V70 and could bring several notable upgrades, particularly in battery capacity and camera capabilities.

The biggest talking point around the upcoming Vivo V80 is its reported 7200mAh battery. If the information turns out to be accurate, this could become the largest battery ever offered in Vivo’s V series in India. A battery of this size would be particularly interesting for users who spend long hours watching videos, using social media or taking photographs.

The phone is also expected to focus heavily on photography. According to tipster Anvin, the Vivo V80 could feature a 50 megapixel ZEISS main camera. The phone may also include a 50 megapixel telephoto camera with support for 3x optical zoom.

The telephoto camera could offer additional zoom capabilities for portrait photography. The tipster has reportedly suggested support for up to 10x optical zoom in portrait mode, although the exact implementation and camera specifications have not yet been confirmed by Vivo.

Vivo may also introduce a new set of artificial intelligence powered photography tools with the V80. The reported AI Creative Camera feature could include around 30 different AI effects, giving users more options to change or enhance their photographs directly through the phone.

Another feature reportedly in development is Live Sticker Collage. This could allow users to add stickers while creating photo collages, making it easier to produce customised images without relying on separate editing applications.

Festive photography could receive special attention as well. The Vivo V80 is tipped to include an AI Diwali Portrait 2.0 feature designed around festive portraits. Vivo previously introduced AI Festive Portrait features with the Vivo V60, and the upcoming model could build on that idea with additional capabilities.

Video recording may also receive an upgrade. The Vivo V80 is expected to support 4K cinematic video recording, which could appeal to users who want to create more polished videos using a smartphone rather than a dedicated camera.

On the software side, the upcoming phone is tipped to run Android 17 out of the box with OriginOS 7. This would give the device a newer software platform along with Vivo’s latest user interface experience.

The Vivo V80 has not been officially announced for India yet. The company has also not revealed its launch date or confirmed the specifications mentioned in the reports. The information currently comes from tipster based reports, so the final retail version could differ.

Vivo has already introduced the Vivo V80 Lite 5G in several international markets, including Malaysia and Pakistan. The standard Vivo V80 is expected to follow as another important addition to the series, although the exact launch strategy for India remains unclear.

The Vivo V70, which arrived earlier this year, serves as the predecessor to the upcoming model. With the V80, Vivo appears to be looking at improvements that go beyond basic hardware upgrades, particularly in battery capacity and AI assisted photography.

If the reported specifications are accurate, the 7200mAh battery and 50 megapixel ZEISS camera could become the phone’s biggest selling points. The combination of a large battery, telephoto photography and new AI features could make the Vivo V80 an interesting option in the premium smartphone segment.

For now, buyers will have to wait for an official announcement from Vivo for confirmation of the launch date, price and complete specifications.
