Young India batter Abhishek Sharma reached 6,000 T20 runs in record time, becoming the fastest Asian player to achieve the milestone by balls faced during the Afghanistan match in Delhi.
Abhishek Sharma has added another remarkable achievement to his growing T20 career. The Indian batter reached 6,000 runs in the format during the first T20 against Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday.

Only New Zealand opener Finn Allen is ahead of him. Allen reached 6,000 T20 runs in 3,386 balls, leaving Abhishek just 34 deliveries behind the New Zealand batter.
The Indian youngster moved ahead of several established T20 power hitters while reaching the milestone. Andre Russell completed 6,000 runs in 3,550 balls, while Tim David reached the mark in 3,681 deliveries. Will Jacks and Phil Salt are also behind Abhishek on the list.
The record adds another chapter to Abhishek’s rapid rise in the shortest format. His aggressive approach has made him one of India’s most exciting young batters, particularly when he gets a good start at the top of the order.
