Vivo Launches New TWS Earbuds in India at Rs 1,999

Vivo has added another product to its audio range in India. The company has launched the new Vivo Buds true wireless earbuds at Rs 1,999. Considering the price, Vivo has packed the earbuds with quite a few features, including spatial audio, AI based noise reduction and low latency support for gaming.

The new Buds will be sold in two colour options, Basalt Black and Nilgiri Green. Buyers can get them from the Vivo India e Store, Flipkart and retail stores. Each earbud weighs around 3.8 grams, so they are designed to be fairly light for everyday use. The earbuds also come with an IP54 rating, although this protection does not apply to the charging case.

Battery backup should be one of the important points for buyers in this segment. Vivo says the Buds can last for up to 50 hours when used with the charging case. On their own, the earbuds can provide up to 12 hours of music playback on a single charge. For calls, the claimed backup is up to seven hours. A 10 minute quick charge is enough to get up to four hours of playback, according to the company.

Vivo has used 10mm dynamic drivers in the earbuds. They also come with the company’s DeepX 4.0 sound effects, giving users options such as Mega Bass, Clear Voice and Clear High Pitch. There is a separate Audiobook Listening mode as well. Those who like to adjust their sound can use the 10 band equalizer and make changes to the audio output.

Spatial audio is also part of the package. Vivo has included four modes named Theatre, Concert Hall, Studio and Live Concert. These are meant to give music and other content a wider, more immersive sound.

Calls are another area where the new Buds get several additions. There are four microphones on the earbuds, along with AI Call Noise Cancellation. Vivo has also added a wind noise reduction chamber to help cut down wind sounds when making calls outdoors. This could be useful for people who regularly use wireless earbuds while travelling or walking.

Gamers get a dedicated low latency option. The Vivo Buds offer latency as low as 42ms, while Bluetooth 6.1 handles the wireless connection. The earbuds also support multipoint connectivity, allowing them to stay connected to two devices.

There are a few handy extras too. Users can find their earbuds through Find My Vivo Buds, access a voice assistant and even use the earbuds for remote camera control. The touch controls can be customised for actions such as playing or pausing music, answering calls and changing tracks.

Vivo has also added a small pairing animation for its smartphone users. When the Buds are connected to a Vivo phone, a pet themed animation appears on the screen. The earbuds are not limited to Vivo phones, however, and can also work with smartphones and other devices from different ecosystems.

At Rs 1,999, Vivo is clearly targeting customers who want more than basic wireless earbuds without moving into the expensive TWS category. The long battery claim, gaming mode and call related features could make the new Buds worth considering for users looking for an affordable everyday pair.
