Palnadu Woman Killed in New Jersey Road Accident While Pursuing Career in US
A young woman from Palnadu who recently completed her master's degree in the United States lost her life in a New Jersey road accident, leaving her family and hometown in deep sorrow.

A tragic road accident in the United States has claimed the life of a young woman from Andhra Pradesh, cutting short the dreams she had built after completing her higher education abroad. The incident has left her family and residents of her native village in deep grief.
The victim, 27 year old Makkena Prasanna, belonged to Ummadivaram village in Vinukonda mandal of Palnadu district. She was the elder daughter of farmer couple Makkena Venkateswarlu and Govindamma. Prasanna had moved to the United States in 2022 to pursue higher studies and had recently completed her master’s degree. She was preparing to begin her professional career.
According to available information, Prasanna was returning from an event with three friends on Tuesday when their car met with an accident in New Jersey. The vehicle reportedly went out of control and crashed into a roadside tree. Prasanna suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, while the other occupants of the car were injured and received medical treatment.
The heartbreaking news reached her family in Andhra Pradesh, leaving her parents and relatives devastated. The loss has also shocked people in her hometown, where many remembered her as a bright student with a promising future.
Government Chief Whip and local MLA GV Anjaneyulu spoke with Prasanna’s father over the phone to express condolences. He assured the family that the government would extend all possible assistance to complete the formalities and bring her mortal remains back to her native village at the earliest. Meanwhile, the family has appealed for speedy arrangements to bring their daughter home for the final rites.
