Vivo X Fold 6 Repair Costs Revealed as Motherboard Replacement Reaches Nearly 72000

Vivo has officially disclosed the repair costs for its latest foldable flagship, the Vivo X Fold 6, giving potential buyers a clearer picture of long term ownership expenses. While the smartphone offers premium specifications and cutting edge technology, repairing some of its key components could prove to be a costly affair, especially after the warranty period ends.

Among all replacement parts, the motherboard is the most expensive component. Depending on the storage variant, replacement costs range from approximately Rs 51000 for the 12GB and 256GB model to nearly Rs 72000 for the top end 16GB and 1TB version. These figures only cover the cost of the parts, with an additional labor charge applicable for out of warranty repairs.

The foldable inner display is another high value component. Replacing the complete internal screen costs around Rs 52000. However, Vivo is offering a 25 percent discount on the first screen replacement, reducing the price to about Rs 39000. Customers who only require a panel replacement instead of the full display assembly will pay roughly Rs 26000.

The outer display is significantly less expensive to repair. Replacing only the front glass costs around Rs 4000, while a complete outer display replacement is priced at approximately Rs 12000. Battery replacement is comparatively affordable at nearly Rs 3500, making it one of the least expensive major repairs.

Camera repair costs vary depending on the module. Replacing the front camera costs about Rs 1400, while the rear ultra wide camera is priced at around Rs 1500. The periscope telephoto camera replacement costs nearly Rs 4000, and replacing the flagship 200 megapixel primary camera comes to approximately Rs 5400.

Vivo has also confirmed that repairs carried out after the warranty expires will include an additional labor fee of around Rs 700 per service visit. If multiple parts are replaced during the same visit, customers will only be charged the labor fee once.

The Vivo X Fold 6 was recently launched in China with a starting price of around Rs 111000 for the 12GB and 256GB model. The 12GB and 512GB version is priced at approximately Rs 125000, while the 16GB and 512GB variant costs about Rs 139000. The highest configuration with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at nearly Rs 153000. Vivo has also introduced a premium Black Gold Edition priced at around Rs 157000.

The flagship foldable smartphone features an 8.02 inch AMOLED foldable display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 5000 nits. It also includes a 6.51 inch AMOLED cover display that offers similar visual quality. The device runs Android 16 based OriginOS 6 Fold and carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Powering the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor built on a 3 nanometer process. The device offers up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and as much as 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, delivering flagship level performance for demanding tasks.

Photography is one of the major highlights of the Vivo X Fold 6. The rear camera system includes a 200 megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization, supported by a 50 megapixel ultra wide camera and a 50 megapixel periscope telephoto lens capable of up to 100 times digital zoom. Two 20 megapixel selfie cameras are placed on the inner and outer displays, while the phone also supports video recording at up to 8K resolution.

The smartphone is equipped with a large 7000mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type C, multiple global navigation systems and a wide range of onboard sensors. Despite its premium hardware and advanced foldable design, the newly revealed repair prices indicate that accidental damage could lead to substantial repair bills, making protective care an important consideration for prospective buyers.
