Tata Avinya X Electric SUV Enters Testing Ahead of Expected 2027 Launch

Tata Motors has started testing the upcoming Avinya X electric SUV promising premium design advanced technology spacious interiors and a competitive electric platform ahead of its expected 2027 market debut

Tata Motors has officially begun road testing the upcoming Avinya X electric SUV, marking another major step in its electric mobility journey. Expected to arrive in 2027, the premium EV has already been spotted wearing heavy camouflage, hinting that development is progressing steadily before its market launch.

The Avinya X is being developed on Jaguar Land Rover’s Electrified Modular Architecture, a platform designed for advanced electric vehicles. While Tata Motors will pay royalties for using the architecture, the company is expected to localize production extensively to keep pricing competitive for Indian buyers.

Even though the test vehicle remains fully covered, several styling elements are already visible. The SUV features a closed front grille, vertically positioned lighting units on the bumper, a long wheelbase, a sloping roofline and large aerodynamic alloy wheels. Spy images also suggest wraparound tail lamps and a roof spoiler, giving the SUV a modern and sporty appearance.

Inside, the Avinya X is expected to deliver a premium cabin loaded with advanced technology. Reports indicate the dashboard could feature three digital displays along with a large central touchscreen. Other expected highlights include a two spoke steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, multi zone climate control and Level 2 ADAS for enhanced driving safety.

The electric SUV is also expected to support Vehicle to Load and Vehicle to Vehicle technologies, allowing it to power external devices and interact with other compatible electric vehicles. These features are likely to make the Avinya X one of Tata Motors most technologically advanced electric offerings.

With testing now underway, the Tata Avinya X is shaping up to become one of the most anticipated premium electric SUVs in India. Combining a modern platform, luxury features and advanced EV technology, the model is expected to strengthen Tata Motors position in the rapidly growing electric vehicle market when it arrives in 2027.
