Samsung has officially expanded its premium wearable lineup with the launch of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9 during its Galaxy Unpacked event in London. The latest smartwatches arrive with upgraded hardware, brighter displays, advanced health monitoring powered by artificial intelligence, and improved durability, targeting both fitness enthusiasts and everyday users.
Pre orders for both smartwatches have already begun in India and several international markets. Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9 will be available for purchase starting August 7. The Galaxy Watch 9 starts at Rs. 38999 for the 40mm Bluetooth variant, while the 40mm LTE model is priced at Rs. 42999. The premium Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, available in a single 47mm titanium version, carries a price tag of Rs. 69999.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is built for users who require maximum durability and high performance during outdoor adventures. It features a rugged titanium frame paired with a 1.5 inch Sapphire Crystal Super AMOLED display capable of reaching an impressive peak brightness of 5000 nits. The brighter display ensures excellent visibility even under direct sunlight, making it suitable for outdoor activities and extreme environments.
Powering the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset, accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Samsung has also equipped the smartwatch with a large 800mAh battery to deliver extended usage between charges. The device comes with 10ATM water resistance, IP69K certification, and military grade durability, making it suitable for professional diving, water sports, and demanding outdoor adventures.
The Galaxy Watch 9 is designed for users seeking a balance between premium features and everyday comfort. It is available in both 40mm and 44mm sizes with a lightweight aluminum frame. The smartwatch features Super AMOLED displays with up to 3000 nits of brightness, offering excellent visibility while maintaining a sleek and stylish design.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Watch 9 with the same Snapdragon Wear Elite processor found in the Ultra model. It includes 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, providing smooth performance for apps, fitness tracking, and notifications. Battery capacity differs by model, with the 44mm version housing a 445mAh battery and the 40mm version featuring a 390mAh battery.
Both smartwatches run on Wear OS 7 combined with Samsung’s One UI 9 Watch interface. The updated software introduces several artificial intelligence powered health and wellness features designed to offer deeper insights into fitness, sleep quality, heart health, and daily activity. These enhancements aim to provide users with more personalized recommendations for maintaining a healthier lifestyle.
