Kia Launches Syros Electric SUV in India With Up to 526 Km Range and Premium Features

Kia India has officially expanded its electric vehicle lineup with the launch of the new Syros Electric SUV in the Indian market. Positioned as the brand’s most affordable electric model in the country, the Syros EV starts at Rs. 13.50 lakh ex showroom, while the top variant is priced at Rs. 20 lakh. The company is targeting buyers looking for a feature rich electric SUV with a long driving range and modern technology at a competitive price.

One of the biggest highlights of the new Syros EV is its impressive driving range. Kia offers the SUV with two battery pack options to suit different customer needs. The 42 kWh battery delivers a claimed range of up to 443 kilometers on a single charge, while the larger 51.4 kWh battery extends the driving range to an impressive 526 kilometers. This makes the Syros EV a practical choice for both city commutes and longer highway journeys.

The larger battery version is powered by an electric motor producing 171 hp and 255 Nm of torque, providing a balance of performance and efficiency. Fast charging is another strong point of the SUV. Using a 100 kW DC fast charger, the 51.4 kWh battery can be recharged from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 39 minutes, reducing waiting time during long trips.

Kia has also introduced an attractive Battery as a Service BaaS ownership option for customers who want to reduce the upfront purchase cost. Under this scheme, the Syros EV can be purchased at a starting price of Rs. 7.99 lakh. However, buyers opting for this plan will pay an additional Rs. 3.30 per kilometer for battery usage. The initiative is designed to make electric vehicle ownership more accessible by lowering the initial investment.

Inside the cabin, the Syros EV focuses on comfort and advanced technology. The dashboard features Kia’s Trinity Panoramic Screen setup, which combines a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3 inch touchscreen infotainment display, and a 5 inch climate control screen. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while a Harman Kardon premium audio system enhances the in cabin entertainment experience.

The SUV also offers several premium comfort features that are rarely seen in this segment. A panoramic sunroof adds to the spacious feel of the cabin, while the rear seats come with ventilation, sliding, and reclining functions, providing greater comfort for passengers during long journeys.

Safety has received equal attention in the new Syros EV. Kia has equipped the SUV with six airbags, a 360 degree camera, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. These features are aimed at improving both passenger protection and driver confidence in different road conditions.

With its long driving range, premium interior, advanced technology, and comprehensive safety package, the Kia Syros Electric SUV is expected to emerge as a strong contender in India’s growing electric vehicle market. The new model is likely to challenge established electric SUVs from Tata Motors and Mahindra while giving buyers another compelling option in the rapidly expanding EV segment.
