Google Introduces Selfie Video Verification for Faster Account Recovery

Google is rolling out a new security feature that could make account recovery much easier for users who forget their passwords or lose access to their trusted devices. The company has introduced a selfie video verification system that allows users to prove their identity by recording a short video instead of relying only on traditional recovery methods.

The new feature is designed to simplify the sign in process while adding another layer of protection against unauthorized access. According to Google, the selfie video is encrypted and will only be used for identity verification during sign in or account recovery. The company says the recorded data is securely stored within the user’s security settings.

This verification option is especially useful for people who are locked out of their Google accounts or cannot access the phone or computer they normally use.
