Five Arrested in Jubilee Hills as Police Seize Hash Oil Worth Rs 16 Lakh
Hyderabad police arrested three alleged drug peddlers and two consumers in Jubilee Hills after seizing 1.25 litres of hash oil valued at Rs 16 lakh during a coordinated operation.
A coordinated operation by the Hyderabad Task Force and Jubilee Hills Police led to the arrest of five people after authorities recovered 1.25 litres of hash oil valued at approximately Rs 16 lakh. The operation was conducted in the Jubilee Hills area following specific intelligence about suspected narcotics activity.
Police identified the arrested individuals as three alleged drug peddlers and two consumers. The suspects were intercepted near Road Number 10 while they were reportedly involved in activities linked to the illegal sale and purchase of hash oil.
According to investigators, two of the accused had been sourcing hash oil from a supplier based outside Telangana and distributing it in Hyderabad for profit. Police said the contraband was allegedly divided into small containers before being sold individually at high prices to customers across the city.
Investigators revealed that an earlier consignment had also been procured and sold using the same method. Encouraged by the illegal earnings, the accused reportedly arranged another larger shipment, which eventually led to the police operation.
During the raid, officers seized 75 small containers filled with hash oil, four mobile phones believed to have been used in the operation, and a motorcycle allegedly used for transportation. The total value of the seized narcotics is estimated at around Rs 16 lakh.
The investigation later resulted in the identification and arrest of two individuals who were allegedly purchasing the substance for personal consumption. Police are continuing to investigate the wider network involved in the distribution of hash oil.
Officials said the suspected main supplier, who is believed to be operating from Odisha, remains absconding. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the individual as the investigation expands.
The operation was carried out jointly by the Secunderabad Task Force and Jubilee Hills Police under the supervision of senior police officials as part of ongoing efforts to curb narcotics trafficking in Hyderabad.
