Bengaluru Techie Left Shocked by Hyderabad Traffic Speed

A Bengaluru software professional was surprised after covering 12 kilometres in just 30 minutes in Hyderabad, sparking a viral online debate comparing traffic and infrastructure in both IT cities.

The long standing comparison between Hyderabad and Bengaluru has once again become a trending topic online, this time over traffic and road infrastructure. A social media post shared by a Bengaluru based tech professional praising Hyderabad’s travel speed has triggered widespread discussion among internet users.

The post quickly went viral after the user described how he managed to travel 12 kilometres in Hyderabad within just 30 minutes, something he claimed felt almost impossible for someone used to Bengaluru traffic conditions.

Social Media Post Sparks Debate

The post was shared by a user named Archy Sengupta on X. Describing his experience in Hyderabad, he wrote that his Bengaluru trained brain could not process the fact that a 12 kilometre journey was completed so quickly.

He jokingly added that in Bengaluru, spending 30 minutes on the road often means covering barely one kilometre because of severe traffic congestion.

The comment instantly connected with thousands of commuters and IT employees who regularly experience long travel hours in major Indian cities.

Netizens Share Their Experiences

Within hours, the post attracted more than forty three thousand views along with hundreds of comments from users across both cities.

Several Hyderabad residents proudly highlighted the city’s improving infrastructure and faster commute times. One user claimed he regularly covers nearly 50 kilometres from office to home in under an hour.

Another person shared that after relocating from Bengaluru to Hyderabad, daily travel suddenly felt normal and less stressful.

At the same time, some Bengaluru residents expressed frustration over worsening traffic congestion and called for better road planning and stronger public transport systems in the city.

Not Everyone Agreed

While many users praised Hyderabad, some locals argued that traffic conditions can still become difficult during peak hours and rainy days.

A few social media users pointed out that Hyderabad too has been witnessing growing congestion in recent years and warned that rapid urban expansion could create future traffic challenges if planning does not keep pace.

Why Hyderabad Roads Are Getting Attention

Many netizens credited Hyderabad’s wide roads, flyovers, multi level grade separators, and the Outer Ring Road network for reducing travel time across the city.

Urban planning experts say strategic infrastructure development over the past several years has significantly improved traffic movement in Hyderabad compared to many other metro cities.

The viral discussion has once again highlighted the growing contrast between Hyderabad’s expanding road network and Bengaluru’s ongoing struggle with traffic management in densely populated technology corridors.
