The statement was made by Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya, head of Tapasvi Chhawani in Ayodhya. According to reports, he claimed that the reward would be given to the family of anyone who killed the actor and also stated that he would bear the legal expenses of the accused. The remarks have drawn strong reactions because of their violent nature.
The latest controversy comes shortly after Aamir Khan’s reported marriage to Gauri Spratt through a private registered ceremony at his Bandra residence. The event was attended only by close family members and friends, but it soon became the subject of criticism from certain groups.
Before the latest remarks surfaced, members of the Bajrang Dal had already staged protests against Aamir’s marriage and burned his effigy. The organisation accused the actor of deliberately marrying Hindu women and linked the marriage to allegations of what they described as “love jihad.”
