Amazon Picks Telangana for Mega Data Centre, Revanth Reddy Flags Off Project

Telangana has moved a step closer to becoming a leading global technology destination with the launch of a massive Amazon Web Services data centre project near Hyderabad. The new facility, coming up at Bharat Future City, represents one of the state’s biggest technology investments and is expected to strengthen its digital infrastructure.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the project, describing it as another milestone in Telangana’s efforts to attract world class companies. He said the state has adopted investor friendly policies that simplify approvals and create an environment where businesses can expand with confidence.

The project follows an investment commitment made by Amazon Web Services during the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025. Under the agreement, AWS has committed an investment of Rs 60000 crore for establishing the new data centre campus.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said Telangana aims to become a one trillion dollar economy by 2034 and expand further to a three trillion dollar economy by 2047. He also expressed hope that Amazon would increase its investments in the state in the coming years as Telangana continues to develop its technology ecosystem.

To ensure smooth execution of large investment projects, the state government plans to hold regular review meetings with Amazon officials. The objective is to resolve pending issues quickly and provide continuous support for future expansion plans.

The government is developing Bharat Future City as an integrated business and innovation hub capable of attracting multinational companies from different sectors. Officials believe Amazon’s presence will encourage more global enterprises to establish operations in the upcoming technology city.

IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said Telangana is focusing on building world class infrastructure for technology companies. He announced that the state is also developing a dedicated Data Centre Park with reliable electricity, water supply, and other essential facilities to support future investments.

With artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital services expanding rapidly across industries, Telangana hopes projects like the AWS data centre will generate employment, strengthen the state’s economy, and position Hyderabad among the world’s leading technology hubs.
