A private bus travelling from Hyderabad to Eluru crashed into a stationary container lorry near Kodada, killing six passengers and leaving 20 others seriously injured.

Six Killed in Kodada Bus Crash: A private travel bus heading from Hyderabad to Eluru met with a fatal accident near Dorakunta on the outskirts of Kodada mandal in Telangana’s Suryapet district.

The bus reportedly rammed into a stationary container lorry from behind. Six passengers died at the scene, while around 20 others sustained serious injuries. There were 42 passengers on board when the accident occurred.

Five women and one man were among those who died. Police have identified three of the deceased as Yasaarapu Chinni, 32, Bollipongu Mary Joshna, 29, and Chennakeshavula Nagendra Babu, 21. The identities of the remaining three victims are yet to be confirmed.

Emergency teams rushed to the accident site and shifted the injured to Kodada Government Hospital. Rescue and relief operations continued as authorities worked to clear the damaged vehicles and establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed shock over the accident and conveyed his condolences to the victims’ families. He directed officials to ensure that the injured receive proper medical treatment.

Andhra Pradesh Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy also expressed grief over the deaths and urged officials to provide the best possible treatment to those injured. He stressed that bus operators must give top priority to passenger safety.
