Telangana Voter Notices: The Election Department in Telangana is beginning the next phase of the Special Intensive Revision process, with notices set to reach millions of voters across the state from today.

A total of 92.87 lakh voters have been identified for verification. Of these, 60.51 lakh fall under the anomalies category, while another 32.36 lakh are listed under the unmapped category. Booth Level Officers will visit voters at their homes and hand over the notices in phases.

The notice will mention why the voter has been called for verification, along with the date and time for appearing before the Electoral Registration Officer or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer. Officials will also record the delivery details through the designated application.

The verification process is being organised through time slots to avoid overcrowding. Around 200 voters from each polling booth area are expected to be accommodated in a day. Those who cannot attend on the allotted date can approach the election authorities and explain the reason. A fresh date may then be provided, but the voter will have to appear with the required documents.

The exercise follows the release of the draft electoral roll earlier this month. The notice distribution was initially expected to begin soon after the draft list was published, but administrative arrangements delayed the process. Officials have now completed the preparations and are moving ahead with household visits.

The number of voters requiring verification is particularly high in the Greater Hyderabad area. Additional AEROs are being appointed there to manage the workload. Rural districts have already been assigned EROs and AEROs for the exercise.

Election officials have also clarified an important point: receiving a notice does not mean that a voter’s name will automatically be removed from the electoral roll. Eligible voters will get an opportunity to establish their details by submitting the necessary documents.

Special arrangements are also being considered for certain groups, including NRIs, VIPs and celebrities, so they can submit their documents through alternative procedures where applicable.

Voters can also check whether a notice has been generated against their name online. On the Election Commission website, they can use the relevant document submission option and search using their mobile number or EPIC number through OTP verification.

If a notice has been generated, details such as the voter’s name, EPIC number, constituency, state, response date and polling station are expected to be displayed. Since notices are being generated in phases, voters whose details are not shown immediately may need to check again later.

The election authorities have urged voters who receive notices not to panic. They should attend on the assigned date with the required documents and complete the verification process.
