Telangana Commercial Taxes Department Records Highest Ever Revenue Collection

The Telangana Commercial Taxes Department achieved its highest monthly revenue collection driven by strong GST VAT and Professional Tax receipts while recording impressive year on year growth.

The Telangana Commercial Taxes Department has recorded its highest ever monthly revenue collection, reflecting strong tax compliance and steady economic activity across the state. Officials said the department collected a total of Rs 7865 crore through Goods and Services Tax, Value Added Tax and Professional Tax during the previous month.

The latest figures represent the highest monthly collection in the history of the department. Compared with the same period last year, revenue increased by 19 percent, indicating significant growth in tax receipts and improved commercial performance across various sectors.

GST contributed a major share of the overall collection, with total GST revenue in Telangana reaching Rs 5819 crore during the month. The strong performance placed the state among the leading performers in the country in terms of GST revenue growth.

Officials noted that Telangana ranked second in India for GST growth, behind Haryana. While nationwide GST collections recorded an annual growth of around 10 percent in July, Telangana nearly doubled that pace by registering a 19 percent increase.

The department attributed the record collections to improved tax administration, better compliance and sustained business activity across the state. The robust revenue performance is expected to strengthen the state’s financial position and support ongoing development and welfare initiatives.
