Teen Dies After Mobile Phone Battery Explosion in Asifabad Village
A teenage boy lost his life after a mobile phone battery reportedly exploded while the device was charging, prompting police to register a case and begin an investigation.

A tragic incident was reported from Kumarambheem Asifabad district after a 14 year old boy died following a mobile phone battery explosion at his home in Gudem village of Chintalamanepalli mandal.
The victim, identified as N Lokesh, was reportedly using the mobile phone while it remained connected to a charger. During that time, the device is believed to have exploded, causing severe injuries.
Family members were not inside the house when the incident occurred, as the boy’s parents had gone to work in nearby agricultural fields. Neighbours who heard his cries rushed to the spot and immediately informed the parents.
Lokesh was shifted to a hospital for emergency treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way, according to the complaint lodged by his father.
Police said the incident occurred at around 9 30 in the morning. Officers visited the location, gathered preliminary evidence and registered a suspicious death case under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita. Further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
Authorities have advised the public to exercise caution while using electronic devices during charging and to avoid prolonged handling of phones connected to power sources until the inquiry is completed.
