Women Safety Wing Takes Over Trainee IPS Harassment Case at Police Academy

The investigation into the alleged harassment of a trainee IPS officer at the National Police Academy has been transferred to the Women Safety Wing. Senior police officials reassigned the case to ensure a detailed and specialized inquiry into the allegations.

A case had earlier been registered at the Attapur Police Station against trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy, who is facing allegations of sexual harassment. The matter has since moved into the hands of the Women Safety Wing for further investigation.

Women Safety Wing DCP Lavanya Nayak Jadhav visited the National Police Academy on Wednesday to begin the inquiry. Officials first recorded the statement of the complainant in the presence of senior authorities before proceeding with other stages of the investigation.

Investigators also collected digital records and other available evidence mentioned in the complaint. In addition, several trainee IPS officers and academy officials were questioned to gather more information related to the case.

During the investigation, media personnel were not allowed inside the academy premises and were stopped at a distance as officials continued the inquiry. The investigation remains in progress, and authorities are expected to examine all available evidence before taking further action.
