Telangana to Host KIYG: Telangana to Host Khelo India Youth Games This Year
Telangana has been selected to host the Khelo India Youth Games with around eight thousand athletes expected to compete showcasing the state's growing sports infrastructure and enthusiasm.

Telangana to Host KIYG: Telangana has been chosen as the host state for this year’s Khelo India Youth Games, adding another major sporting event to its calendar. The announcement was made by Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Wednesday.
The prestigious youth sporting event is expected to be held in November and is likely to attract nearly 8000 athletes from across the country. Officials believe the tournament will provide a significant boost to sports development and youth participation.
Announcing the decision, the Union Minister praised Telangana for its modern sports infrastructure and strong enthusiasm for hosting national level competitions. He said the state has the facilities and organizational capacity needed to conduct an event of this scale successfully.
Mandaviya also explained that the Centre aims to take major national sporting events to different regions of the country so that more states get opportunities to showcase their sporting ecosystem and encourage young talent.
The previous edition of the Khelo India Youth Games was hosted by Bihar. With Telangana now preparing for the event, athletes, coaches and sports enthusiasts are looking forward to another memorable edition of the country’s premier youth sports competition.
