Akhil Injury Story: Akhil Akkineni opened up about a serious accident, two surgeries, and a lengthy recovery while sharing why he stayed away from films before making his comeback with Lenin.

Akhil Injury Story: Actor Akhil Akkineni has shared the reason behind his nearly three year break from films, revealing that a serious hand injury forced him to step away from work. The actor is now preparing for his comeback with Lenin, directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, which is scheduled for release on July 10.
During the film’s promotional interviews, Akhil said the accident happened about three months after the release of Agent. He slipped in his bathroom, and broken glass severely injured his left hand. The injury required two surgeries and 48 stitches, making it impossible for him to lift weights for nearly eight months. He added that it took around 16 months to recover completely.
Akhil acknowledged that many fans were disappointed by his long absence from the big screen. He assured them that he understands their frustration and promised to remain more active in the future.
Speaking about Lenin, Akhil said the story immediately impressed him because of its fresh concept and emotionally layered characters. He described it as a unique subject that has not been explored in Indian cinema before and said it was the perfect project to begin a new chapter in his career.
Actress Bhagyashri Borse plays the female lead in the film. She said her character, Bharati, is emotionally strong and deeply connected to Lenin, adding that meaningful roles like this give actors an opportunity to showcase their true potential.
