India Semifinal Scenario: India Women Face Crucial Semifinal Test as T20 World Cup Qualification Battle Intensifies
India Semifinal Scenario: The Women T20 World Cup enters its final league stage with India Australia South Africa and Bangladesh still fighting for semifinal spots as points and net run rate remain decisive.

India Semifinal Scenario: The Women T20 World Cup has entered a decisive phase with the race for the semifinals becoming increasingly competitive. While four teams have already been eliminated from the tournament, only one side has officially secured a place in the last four. The remaining semifinal spots are still up for grabs, setting up an exciting finish to the league stage.
Group A remains wide open with Australia India South Africa and Bangladesh all in contention. Pakistan and the Netherlands have already been knocked out of the qualification race. Australia currently leads the group with eight points, while India and South Africa have six points each. Bangladesh remains in the hunt with four points, and every team has one league match left to play.
India’s final league match against Australia on June 28 will be the biggest test of its campaign. If India defeats Australia, both teams will finish with eight points. Should South Africa also win its last match, three teams would be tied on eight points, making net run rate the deciding factor for semifinal qualification.
Even if Australia beats India, the Indian team will still have a chance to qualify. That scenario depends on Bangladesh defeating South Africa in the other Group A fixture. However, Bangladesh must avoid registering a massive victory because India currently enjoys a much stronger net run rate advantage.
India is in a comfortable position in terms of net run rate with plus 2.268. South Africa follows with plus 0.734, while Bangladesh has minus 0.849. This healthy margin could play a crucial role if multiple teams finish level on points.
Group B has already produced its first confirmed semifinalist, with England qualifying after collecting eight points. The remaining semifinal place is being contested by West Indies Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
West Indies can secure qualification by defeating Ireland in its final league match. If that happens, New Zealand will be eliminated regardless of its final result, while Sri Lanka will also miss out. Sri Lanka can only reach the semifinals if both West Indies and New Zealand lose their respective final matches.
Scotland and Ireland have already been eliminated from Group B, leaving the final qualification battle to be decided over the remaining league fixtures as the tournament moves closer to the knockout stage.
