Sabarimala Reopens for Rituals: The renowned Sabarimala Temple in Kerala is set to reopen on Sunday evening for the annual Mithunam month rituals, drawing thousands of devotees from different parts of the country. Temple authorities have completed preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of religious ceremonies and pilgrim visits during the special period.
The temple doors will be opened at 5 pm by the chief priest following traditional rituals and ceremonial prayers. Once the sanctum is opened, a series of special offerings, Padipuja ceremonies, and Udayasthamana Pujas dedicated to Lord Ayyappa will commence and continue over the next several days.
According to the temple schedule, the special worship programmes will be held until June 19. After the completion of all rituals and evening prayers on that day, the temple will once again be closed until the next scheduled opening.
Anticipating a significant increase in pilgrim turnout, authorities have introduced extensive crowd management measures around the shrine and surrounding areas. Security personnel and temple officials have been instructed to ensure orderly movement of devotees and prevent congestion at key locations.
To facilitate a hassle free pilgrimage, devotees have been advised to reserve their Virtual Q slots in advance through the official online booking system. Officials clarified that only pilgrims who complete prior registration will be permitted to proceed from the Pamba base camp to the Sannidhanam.
Additional facilities have also been arranged for visitors, including drinking water points, medical camps, and transportation services near the pilgrimage route. Temple authorities said all necessary arrangements are in place to provide devotees with a safe and comfortable darshan experience during the special worship period.
