Ponnam Prabhakar Hits Back at Pawan Kalyan Over Telangana Remarks

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar strongly criticized Pawan Kalyan's comments on Telangana and questioned his contribution to the Statehood movement while defending the sentiments of Telangana people.

A fresh political war of words has erupted in Telangana after Minister Ponnam Prabhakar strongly responded to comments made by Jana Sena chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The exchange has intensified political discussions surrounding Telangana politics and the role of regional leaders in the State.

The controversy began after Pawan Kalyan, while addressing the media at his residence in Hyderabad, questioned remarks made against him and criticized those who opposed his proposed public meeting. Referring to the criticism, he asked whether Telangana belonged exclusively to a few individuals and challenged attempts to restrict his political activities in the State.

Responding sharply, Ponnam Prabhakar said Telangana was built through the sacrifices and struggles of its people and should not be spoken about lightly. He accused Pawan Kalyan of displaying arrogance and making comments that hurt the sentiments of those who fought for the formation of Telangana.

The minister questioned whether Pawan Kalyan had ever actively supported the Telangana movement or stood with families of those who sacrificed their lives during the agitation. According to him, leaders who did not participate in the struggle should be cautious while making statements about the State and its history.

Ponnam Prabhakar also maintained that Telangana has always welcomed people from all regions and that there is no objection to Pawan Kalyan visiting the State. However, he argued that attempting to organize a politically sensitive meeting on Telangana Formation Day had naturally led to controversy and opposition.

The minister further alleged that Pawan Kalyan was advancing narratives shaped by other political parties and claimed that he was being used as a political tool in Telangana’s evolving political landscape. He suggested that some parties were testing their influence in the State through such interventions.

At the same time, Ponnam Prabhakar emphasized that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh continue to share cultural and social ties despite being separate States. He said leaders should focus on strengthening relations between people rather than creating unnecessary political disputes.

The remarks have added a new dimension to the ongoing political debate between Telangana leaders and Jana Sena. With both sides refusing to soften their positions, the issue is expected to remain a talking point in the coming days as political parties continue to exchange criticism over Telangana related matters.
