Jadcherla Police Arrest Interstate Bus Theft Gang

Police in Jadcherla arrested six members of an interstate theft gang accused of targeting bus passengers and stealing gold ornaments through planned distraction methods during travel.

Police in Jadcherla have busted an interstate theft gang that had allegedly been carrying out a series of thefts targeting passengers travelling in RTC buses. Officials said six members of the gang from Haryana were taken into custody after a planned operation by local police teams.

According to investigators, the gang followed a calculated method to target victims in crowded buses. Members reportedly boarded buses like regular passengers and closely watched people carrying bags or women believed to be wearing or carrying gold ornaments. During busy boarding moments, they allegedly created confusion and pushing among passengers to distract attention.

Police said the accused used sharp cutting tools to secretly cut open bags or unzip them and steal valuables within seconds. The gang was also believed to have used a luxury vehicle that followed the buses from behind, allowing them to quickly escape after committing the thefts.

The accused were linked to recent incidents reported in the Jadcherla area. In one case, a woman boarding a bus near Netaji Chowrasta was allegedly targeted and gold ornaments were stolen from her bag. In another incident, passengers arriving by auto near the bus stand were reportedly followed before valuables were taken.

The gang was caught when police conducting routine vehicle checks near Jadcherla bus stand noticed a suspicious Haryana registered vehicle. As officers attempted to stop the car, the suspects reportedly tried to flee. Police quickly surrounded the vehicle and detained all six members.

During the operation, officials recovered nearly ten tolas of gold ornaments including necklaces, earrings, pendants, rings and other jewellery items. The vehicle believed to have been used during the crimes was also seized. Police officials involved in tracking and arresting the gang were later appreciated for their coordinated efforts in solving the case.
