Uppal Ring Road Closed for Three Months Amid Flyover Works

Hyderabad commuters travelling from Warangal towards the city will face major traffic diversions as Uppal Ring Road remains closed for three months due to elevated corridor construction works.

Hyderabad commuters have been alerted about major traffic restrictions after authorities closed the Uppal Ring Road route for three months to speed up construction of the elevated corridor flyover between Uppal and Narapally.

Officials said the closure came into effect from Monday as pillar construction works entered an important phase. The restrictions are expected to impact thousands of daily commuters travelling from the Warangal side into Hyderabad city.

To manage traffic movement, police and civic authorities introduced diversion routes for incoming vehicles. Vehicles travelling towards the city from the Warangal highway are now being redirected near Mehfil Hotel and guided through Uppal Bhagayat towards the Nagole service road.

From there, commuters will have to take a U turn beneath the flyover to continue towards their destinations. Traffic police have deployed additional staff at key junctions to reduce congestion and regulate vehicle movement during peak hours.

Authorities advised commuters to start their journeys earlier than usual and use alternative routes whenever possible to avoid delays. Officials also requested motorists to cooperate with traffic personnel and strictly follow diversion signs placed across the affected stretch.

The elevated corridor project is considered an important infrastructure development aimed at easing future traffic congestion in eastern parts of Hyderabad. However, officials warned that temporary inconvenience is unavoidable while construction activities continue over the coming months.
