Owaisi Requests Revanth Reddy to Postpone OU Degree Exams
Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi urged the Telangana government to postpone Osmania University degree examinations scheduled on Bakrid, saying Muslim students could face difficulties during the important religious festival.

Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has appealed to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to postpone several Osmania University degree examinations scheduled for May 28 due to the Bakrid festival.
In a message addressed to the Chief Minister and state Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Owaisi said conducting examinations on the day of Eid al Adha could create serious inconvenience for Muslim students who would be observing one of the most important religious festivals of the year.
According to the existing schedule, fourth and sixth semester examinations for BA, BCom, BSc, and BSW courses are set to be held on May 28 under the Osmania University jurisdiction. Several major subjects including Business Statistics, Accounting Standards, Computer Science, and Optimization Techniques are part of the examination timetable.
Owaisi expressed concern that students appearing for examinations on the same day as the festival may experience stress and difficulty balancing religious responsibilities with academic pressure. He requested the government and university authorities to consider student welfare and announce an alternative examination date.
The issue has sparked discussion among students and parents, especially those preparing for key semester papers. Many are now waiting to see whether the Telangana government and Osmania University administration will respond positively to the request.
Meanwhile, Telangana’s latest entrance examination results also drew attention after a student created history in the engineering stream. Malladi Rushi from Uppal in Medchal district secured the top rank in the engineering category with 156.63 marks out of 160, becoming the first girl to achieve the state first rank in the stream.
In the Agriculture and Pharmacy category, Mukarram Ahmed from Asif Nagar in Hyderabad secured the top rank with 150.17 marks. Overall pass percentages stood at 73.36 percent in engineering and 86.27 percent in agriculture and pharmacy streams.
