A large tree fell near Hanamkonda Public Garden after an express bus reportedly caught overhead power wires while taking a sharp turn, damaging parked vehicles but causing no injuries.

Hanamkonda Tree Accident: A large tree fell near Hanamkonda Public Garden after an express bus reportedly became caught in overhead power lines while taking a turn. Two autos and two bikes parked nearby were damaged.
The incident happened when the Sircilla depot bus was travelling towards Hanamkonda. Passengers said the bus was moving quickly as it approached the bend. During the turn, the vehicle reportedly came into contact with overhead electrical wires.
Soon after, the nearby tree came down. Its branches and trunk landed on vehicles parked beside the road. Two autorickshaws and two two wheelers were damaged in the incident.
People in the area rushed towards the spot after hearing the noise. Traffic movement was affected for some time as the fallen tree occupied part of the road. The incident also caused concern because the location normally has regular movement of pedestrians and vehicles.
There were no reported injuries in the incident. That came as a major relief to passengers and local residents, particularly because the tree fell close to parked vehicles and a busy road.
Some passengers blamed the speed of the bus and alleged that the driver was not careful enough while taking the turn. They questioned whether the accident could have been avoided if the vehicle had approached the bend more slowly.
Police and traffic officials reached the location after receiving information about the incident. Kakatiya Traffic Police Circle Inspector Venkataratnam inspected the spot and took stock of the situation.
The immediate priority was to clear the road. The fallen tree and branches were removed from the area, while steps were taken to move the affected vehicles and restore normal traffic.
Police are also checking exactly how the bus came into contact with the overhead wires. The condition of the electrical lines, the position of the tree and the speed of the bus are being considered as part of the inquiry.
Statements from passengers and people who were near the Public Garden turning point could also help officials understand what happened. CCTV footage from nearby locations may provide additional information if available.
The accident has raised concerns about overhead electrical lines and large trees along busy stretches. A minor problem involving a passing vehicle quickly turned into a situation that could have caused serious injuries.
For now, the biggest relief is that no lives were lost and no injuries were reported. The damage was mainly limited to the vehicles caught beneath the fallen tree.
Police are continuing to gather information before reaching a conclusion about the exact cause of the incident. Further action will depend on the findings of the investigation.
