Konda Surekha on Minister Post: Congress MLA Konda Surekha has said she has no regret about losing her ministerial position, but felt hurt by what she described as her removal without a proper reason.

Speaking at her first meeting with Congress workers in Warangal after being removed from the state cabinet, Surekha said political positions were temporary and that her focus remained on maintaining a lasting connection with the people.

Surekha said she had risen from the position of an MPP to becoming a minister and had gone through several phases in her political career. She also recalled earlier instances when she had given up a ministerial position because of her commitment to Rajasekhar Reddy.

Taking aim at what she described as opportunistic politics, Surekha said some leaders were changing parties depending on circumstances. She contrasted this with her own political journey and said she had remained committed to the people and causes she believed in.

She also recalled the difficult phase when she did not receive a Congress ticket. According to Surekha, former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao later offered her the Warangal East ticket. She said she accepted the opportunity and defeated the sitting minister at the time.

Surekha said the victory in Warangal East gave people confidence and helped create a sense of security in the constituency. She also credited her husband Konda Murali with being a source of strength for people in the area.

Following her removal from the cabinet, some supporters reportedly contacted the couple and suggested that protests or disturbances should be organised. Surekha said she rejected that approach and asked them to respect the decision taken by the Congress leadership.

She thanked party workers for standing by her and following her appeal to remain peaceful. Surekha said she did not want her supporters to create problems because of her removal from office.

For Surekha, political office is only a temporary responsibility. She said positions may come and go, but the impression a leader leaves among the people lasts much longer.

She also spoke positively about Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, recalling his earlier padayatra for farmers. Surekha said she was among the first to describe him as the kind of mass leader the Congress needed.

Surekha said the formation of the Congress government eventually gave her an opportunity to serve as a minister. However, she maintained that holding a ministerial position was not the only way to work for the public.

She made it clear that losing the cabinet post would not force her to withdraw from public life. Surekha said she would continue working among the people rather than staying at home.

Looking ahead, she expressed confidence about the upcoming municipal corporation elections in Warangal. Surekha said she believed the Congress would win all the seats.
