KTR KCR Row: KTR Alleges Plot Against KCR as Tensions Rise in Erravalli

KTR KCR Row: Political tension in Telangana intensified around KCR’s Erravalli farmhouse after BRS working president KTR alleged that there was an attempt to target the former chief minister.

The situation developed after Congress supporters reportedly called for a protest near KCR’s farmhouse. Reacting to the move, KTR, former minister Harish Rao and several BRS MLAs left the Assembly premises and headed towards Erravalli, saying they wanted to meet and stand by their party chief.

Police stopped the BRS leaders first at Bollaram and later at Hakimpet. The confrontation at Hakimpet led to a heated exchange between the leaders and police personnel. KTR questioned officers about why BRS members were being prevented from reaching KCR’s residence.

Despite the police intervention, the BRS leaders continued towards Erravalli on foot from Bollaram crossroads. Police subsequently took KTR, Harish Rao and other party leaders into custody and moved them to Jawaharnagar and Boinpally police stations.

Speaking to reporters at Boinpally police station, KTR accused Congress workers of creating trouble under the name of a protest at the farmhouse. He questioned how party supporters were able to approach KCR’s residence while BRS leaders were stopped on their way there.

KTR also demanded an explanation from the Director General of Police and said the state government was responsible for ensuring KCR’s security. He alleged that police action was being directed mainly against BRS leaders.

According to KTR, the presence of a large police force around the farmhouse did not give the BRS confidence about KCR’s safety. He said the party leaders felt compelled to reach the location themselves.

The BRS leader also turned his criticism towards the government’s handling of public issues. He alleged that the Congress administration was using political controversies to divert attention from its election promises and said his party would continue its fight over issues affecting people.

KTR further criticised the Assembly proceedings, claiming that political attacks against KCR and BRS leaders were receiving more attention than public concerns. He challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to fulfil promises made to Dalits and tribal communities.

He specifically referred to the Dalit Bandhu scheme and alleged that the promised financial assistance of Rs 12 lakh for each family had not been delivered as assured.

The arrests triggered tension in parts of Medchal, where BRS supporters argued with police personnel. Additional forces were deployed in the area to prevent the situation from escalating.

KTR’s allegation of a plot against KCR has added another layer to the ongoing political confrontation between Congress and BRS in Telangana. The allegations remain claims made by the BRS, while further details from authorities are awaited.
