Ankam Rahul Death: More than a month after the mysterious death of a Telangana engineering student in Andhra Pradesh, his family is still waiting to receive his mortal remains. The prolonged delay has triggered growing public concern, with student organizations demanding immediate intervention from the authorities.

Ankam Rahul, a third year BTech student at Matrusri Engineering College in Hyderabad and a native of Ailapur village in Jagtial district, had informed his family that he was leaving for a tour with friends on May 27. According to officials, he travelled by train from Hyderabad to Singarayakonda in Andhra Pradesh.

A few hours after reaching the area, Rahul was found dead in an agricultural well under suspicious circumstances. Local police initially registered the case as an unidentified body on May 30. After Rahul’s family filed a missing complaint in Telangana, investigators confirmed that the deceased was the missing student.

Despite 35 days passing since the incident, Rahul’s body has not yet been handed over to his parents. The family has expressed anguish over the delay, saying they have already lost hope of seeing their son alive and now only wish to perform his final rites with dignity.

Relatives have also questioned the progress of the investigation, asking why Rahul travelled such a long distance and whether his death was the result of suicide or foul play. They alleged that these questions remain unanswered and have called for a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Student organizations have extended support to the grieving family and urged both the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments to coordinate and ensure the immediate return of Rahul’s body. They warned that if the issue is not resolved within two days, they will stage a protest outside the residence of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
