Redmi K90 Ultra Debuts With Snapdragon 8 Elite Processor and Massive 8550mAh Battery

Redmi has expanded its flagship smartphone lineup with the launch of the Redmi K90 Ultra, a device designed to deliver high end performance for gaming, multimedia and everyday use. Equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the smartphone combines premium hardware with several flagship features aimed at power users.

One of the standout additions is an integrated active cooling fan, a feature rarely seen in mainstream smartphones. According to the company, the cooling system can significantly reduce the device’s temperature within a short period, helping maintain stable performance during extended gaming sessions and other intensive tasks.

The Redmi K90 Ultra features a 6.83 inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, offering smoother scrolling and responsive gameplay. The screen also supports HDR10 Plus, Dolby Vision and HDR Vivid, providing enhanced colour accuracy and improved viewing quality for videos and games.

Powering the device is an 8550mAh battery, making it one of the largest batteries available in a flagship smartphone. The phone supports 100W wired fast charging and comes bundled with a 100W GaN charger in the box. It also offers 22.5W reverse wired charging, allowing users to charge compatible accessories and other devices.

For photography, the smartphone is equipped with a dual rear camera setup led by a 50 megapixel Light Hunter 800 primary sensor. An 8 megapixel ultra wide camera handles wider shots, while a 20 megapixel front camera is available for selfies and video calls.

The device runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and includes LPDDR5X RAM with storage options reaching up to 512GB. Additional premium features include Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, dual stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support, delivering an enhanced entertainment experience.

Durability is another key focus of the new flagship. The Redmi K90 Ultra carries IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering strong resistance against dust and water, making it suitable for use in demanding environments.

Redmi has introduced the smartphone in four storage and memory configurations in China. The 12GB RAM with 256GB storage variant and the 16GB RAM with 256GB storage model are both priced at CNY 2799. The 12GB RAM with 512GB storage version is priced at CNY 3299, while the top end 16GB RAM with 512GB storage model costs CNY 3499.

The Redmi K90 Ultra is available in Space Silver, Shadow Black and Sky Blue colour options. With its combination of a flagship processor, high refresh rate display, advanced cooling technology, large battery and premium build quality, the smartphone is positioned as a strong option for users looking for top tier performance in the premium segment.
