iPhone 18 Pro Series Battery Capacity Leaked Ahead of Launch With Bigger Upgrade Expected

New certification details suggest Apple will introduce larger batteries in the iPhone 18 Pro lineup promising improved endurance alongside the upcoming A20 Pro chipset and overall better efficiency.

Fresh leaks have revealed what could be one of the biggest upgrades coming to Apple’s next flagship smartphones. According to new certification details, both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to feature larger batteries than their predecessors, indicating that Apple may finally be focusing more heavily on battery life.

The latest information comes from a report citing well known tipster DCS, who claims that battery capacities for both premium models have appeared in China’s 3C certification database. If the leak proves accurate, users can expect noticeable improvements in day to day battery performance when the devices officially arrive.

The iPhone 18 Pro is reportedly listed with a 4056mAh battery for the Chinese version, while the US variant is expected to include a slightly larger 4288mAh battery. This represents an increase over the previous iPhone 17 Pro, which reportedly featured a 3988mAh battery in its Chinese version.

The larger iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to receive an even more significant upgrade. Certification details suggest the Chinese version will include a 5391mAh battery, while the US model could feature a 5567mAh battery. In comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max reportedly carried a 4823mAh battery in China and a 5088mAh unit in the United States. If these figures are confirmed, the new model will offer one of the biggest battery improvements seen in recent iPhone generations.

Apple has often faced criticism for offering smaller batteries than many Android competitors. Smartphone makers such as Xiaomi, Oppo and OnePlus have already introduced devices with batteries approaching or exceeding 7000mAh in flagship models, while some midrange smartphones now feature capacities of up to 10000mAh. Although Apple is still expected to remain below those figures, the reported jump to around 5500mAh in the Pro Max model would mark a meaningful step forward.

Battery capacity alone does not determine real world endurance. The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series is also expected to use Apple’s next generation 2nm A20 Pro chipset, which is rumored to deliver better power efficiency alongside improved performance. The combination of a more efficient processor and larger batteries could result in significantly longer usage between charges.

At this stage, Apple has not officially confirmed any specifications for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. The leaked battery details should therefore be treated as preliminary information until the company unveils the devices. Even so, the reported upgrades have already generated excitement among users who have been hoping for stronger battery life in future iPhone models.
