The relaxation will not be limited to the police department. According to the government orders, the revised age rules will also apply to several other uniformed services, including Fire Services, Prisons, Special Protection Force, Excise and Forest departments.

With the latest relaxation added to the concessions already provided, candidates can get a total additional age relaxation of up to seven years. This gives several aspirants another chance to compete for government recruitment.
